While speaking of “seasoning”, it invariably refers to salt.It’s considered the main seasoning agent in the culinary arts and something many newbie cooks are unaware of.
Salt enhances taste. Be sure to add salt properly. Don’t add ordinary table salt but Kosher salt. Before grilling meats and roasting poultry, add the Kosher salt to the food item and see what a difference it makes.
There is more to it. For example, while cooking pasta, make sure to salt the pasta water before heating it. Sprinkle a handful of Kosher salt for each six quarts of water depending on the size of your hands. Do the same with the water to be used to boil potatoes for mashed potatoes. Aside from salt, butter is arguably the single most common ingredient in all the culinary art.
