The Delhi Government launched a web portal where both applicants and employers can do registration for a five-day job fair. Delhi Labor Minister Gopal Rai launched the portal. Earlier in the job fairs candidates had to stand in a long queue for registration.
He said that a person who is looking for employment can visit the portal to register themselves for the job fair. Sources informed that besides youths, employers registered themselves in the newly-launched job portal, private companies also registered themselves to participate in the job fair.
Rai added that so far two job fairs were organized by the Delhi government were over 12000 people got employment in private sectors.
The government planned to organize another job fair shortly on a large scale. There are around 14 lakh people registered as of now, Rai said.
The Delhi Government organized a 2-day job fair and over 8200 youths received “on the spot jobs” and 25787 were shortlisted. Minister Gopal Rai also informed that 82 companies took part in the job fairs and 47000 candidates attended the recruitment process. The response received was more than expected. Hence, in many ways, the government has been taking the initiative to employ youth in various public and private sectors.
